Hewlett-Packard Photosmart A646 is a photo snapshot printer that is easy to use and easy to set up. It produces quality photo prints and can print form diverse photo size papers from 4 x 6 inches to 5 x 12 inches including 4 x 12 inches. Speed is not as impressive as other snapshot printers but it is passable. It displays a touch screen LCD making it a lot easier and convenient to use. It is not as expensive compared to other printers of its league.

Hewlett-Packard Photosmart A646 is a small – format printer that is a bit bigger than other printers of its class. It has a built – in handle that can be rotated out when not in use and a soft leather case for protection when carrying it but lacks the battery option that lessens its portability feature.

The Hewlett-Packard Photosmart A646 is easy to set up. All you need to do is plug it in, switch on and follow the installation instructions for the print cartridge and load the paper. It has a highly visible Bluetooth options that allows you to print instantly from your cell phone. It has two media slots and lets you print directly from your camera, memory card and USB memory keys. It works well with Windows and Mac.

The A646 has 3.5 inch color touch screen LCD which you can use when browsing and selecting menus with your fingers. This allows the user more convenience when using the printer. It has various photo enhancements as well which you can use when creating and designing your photos. The menu allows you to view, print and edit your photos as well as viewing your photos in a slideshow from your memory card or USB key.

A646 produces quality photo that are water and scratch resistant and last longer the same way other snapshot printers offer. The printer’s speed is passable but slower compared to printers of its class. It has high printing costs as well based on HP’s print packs plus the ink and paper.
One great thing about the A646 is its versatility. It can print from three different photo size papers which cannot be found on other snapshot printers.

The Photosmart A646 needs a lot of polishing to do. In spite of its prominent versatility in printing in different paper sizes it lacks the versatility of a true snapshot printer. It should be a portable printer that you can carry out but lacks the battery option which could have made it more desirable. The Bluetooth feature is another best option it has but most of the time shows errors which is very unlikely for a photo printer. Another drawback of the A646 is its slower speed and high running costs.

Hewlett-Packard Photosmart A646 lacks what it takes to be a fully equipped snapshot printer. It is half – baked and the only smart thing it has it its touch screen control panel but this as well needs more polishing as its other features. It may not be expensive but with its high running costs, slow speed it is very hard to make it as one of your printer’s choice.
