HP All-in-One Inkjet Printer

I bought this HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Inkjet Printer because a printer was getting to be a necessity in my house. The kids have entered higher grade levels and are now into school reports and projects. They have convinced me about buying the all-in-one type since it can do a lot of things aside from printing texts and images. It can copy, scan fax, and even have our digital photos printed with very good results.

I bought this when it was relatively new in the market and that was around June 2009 and at its original price. I was quite surprised that it's now down to only $191.98 and with free shipping at that. What surprised me even more are the negative reviews I've been reading about it and it's just too bad. I've had this printer for long, almost 2 months short of one year but I have not encountered any major problems. There may have been minor ones but mostly not through the fault of the printer but were resolved with tech support who guided me through.

Obviously, I'm not tech savvy. I enjoy using computers because I find them user-friendly, but in installing the printer there were some technical things I had to input which prompted me to call tech support for a walk through. In less than an hour it was done and I had the computer running and working in conjunction with my PC.

One thing, I noticed about those who gave this HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Inkjet Printer bad reviews is that they knew a lot about computers. They used technical terms and analyses I find difficult to relate to and yet they had a lot to complain about. I probably owe it to my lack of in-depth knowledge about computers and printers that I have my HP Photosmart Premium Fax AIO still working up to now.

HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Inkjet Printer, can print, scan, copy, send fax messages and I use the Ethernet because I don't know how to make the wireless connectivity work. Based on this, I can say that this computer will do just fine for users like me who have very limited knowledge in exploring the printer's capabilities.

My wife is happy enough that for almost a year now, she can print digital photos with qualities similar to those that she used to get from labs. In fact, she surprised me by managing to print photos using Bluetooth technology direct from her cell phone.

Since this is our first high tech printer, the only printer I can compare its speed with is with our vintage dot matrix printer. Definitely we are very satisfied that text documents can be printed in less than a minute. So far we have had no problem with the auto document feeder since our printing jobs usually take about 20 sheets of paper at the most and at a regular pace. I have no issues about the ink usage either, since the replacements I bought for the inks that HP included in the package have seen us through about a hundred pages of text documents. Ink usage increases only when my wife is in a photo printing binge.

It used to cost me quite a sum to have some images and forms scanned just to produce our own copies, but now, the ease and convenience of having a printer that has its own scanning capability is definitely an improvement. The same goes for the photocopies and the fax machine. What's there to complain about?

If you think it's noisy, it's nowhere near the noise that the dot matrix produces during printing especially for images. The bottom line is for users with very regular expectations ,this HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Inkjet Printer has served and is still serving its purpose well. In fact those who will be buying it now will be better off because they can get it at a relatively low cost compared to the original price I paid for.
